We have had an amazing start to our term one drama classes! Teachers have been commenting on student’s enthusiasm to be back in the drama room and to explore our theme of The Lorax.

“The first week back of the year! What a great class. I feel so lucky to be teaching so many familiar faces (who seemed as excited to see me as I was to see them) as well as a few new faces” Miss Mia (Teacher), Holland Park Shining Stars.

“Students participated with enthusiasm during all the activities” Eleanor, Holy Spirit Masterclass

“We had a wonderful start to the term with a very large and excited class. I’m very excited about the new dynamic the newer students will bring to the class!” Jessica, Broadbeach Masterclass

There is still time to register for term one classes; however, please keep in mind that many classes are almost full and places are limited. We highly recommend registering students soon to avoid disappointment. Registrations are via our website HERE.

MORE INFORMATION ON SEMESTER 1 DRAMA CLASSES

In Semester 1, 2020 we will focus on the playful and hopeful Dr. Seuss classic The Lorax. In this cautionary rhyming tale, we learn of the Once-ler who harvests all the trees and thus changes the landscape forever. Exploring this theme will creatively educate the children about the importance of seeing the beauty in the world around us and how we all have a responsibility to protect it. In term 1, students will focus on exploring the themes of the play to develop their speech and drama skills. In a fun and supportive learning environment, students will learn about clear and effective speech and how to use pace, pause, emphasis, intonation and enunciation, as well as posture, breathing and stage presence to be an effective communicator. In term 2 we will use these enhanced skills as we collaboratively polish the performance for presentation to friends and family at the end of the term.
