Like many other performing arts and education companies in Australia, Bazil Grumble have been impacted by cancellations and postponements due to COVID-19. April is normally extremely busy for us as we deliver creative arts and Easter experiences for vacation care, council and many other clients throughout South East Queensland. It is also at this time of year that we are planning out term two drama classes and we work very closely with our teaching team and schools to organise an amazing end of semester performances.
We, however, have been devastated that none of the above activities have happened. We are also deeply concerned for the health and well-being of our staff and Bazil Grumble families. At times the task of continuing the business felt overwhelming while also trying to maintain routine and stability in our own homes.
We felt it has taken us a while to formulate a plan on how to respond to the irrevocable shift in how we deliver our high-quality, creative experiences. We thank all of our staff and Bazil Grumble families for their patience and kindness during this time.
We are therefore excited to announce our Creative Arts Experiences @ Home! With Queensland school students learning from home, we wanted to provide fun, interact learning materials that participants can access from home! We have so far trialed Flying Origami @ Home!, Self-Portraits @ Home!, Kite Making @Home! and Drama @ Home! with huge success! We are planning many more online sessions for the coming weeks.
We feel we have shaken off the overwhelming feeling of loss and uncertainty and are now looking forward to new opportunities and ways of connecting to our community.
