First of all, we want to say a BIG thank you for your support over the past month. We have been overwhelmed with the love and positive comments from Bazil Grumble friends and family as well as schools, childcare centres and organisations we work with to deliver our creative arts experiences. Thank you ❤️

For term two, Bazil Grumble will not be running our drama and art classes on-campus. We are very sad not to be back in the room and working with our students on their performance of ‘The Lorax’; however, in accordance with the Queensland Government guidelines, many schools have suspended all hire agreements due to COVID-19 and will review their policy in late June 2020. The safety of staff and families is paramount and we completely understand the principal’s decisions to temporary cease hire of their rooms for extracurricular drama and art classes. Bazil Grumble aims to provide an update regarding term three drama classes in early July.

There is, however, a silver lining and we are excited to continue to offer our Drama @ Home! program for FREE throughout June. We feel that playing drama games and doing activities that are interactive and imaginative is so important during this difficult time. Classes so far have focused on mime, tongue twisters, role playing and exploring a character through physicality. Drama @ Home!  is facilitated by our experienced Drama Classes Coordinator, Kristen Maloney, and she has been so impressed with the joy, energy and enthusiasm that the students express in their online class each week. As we continue to understand our “new normal”, art will now and forever help us explore, create, connect, understand each other, collaborate, heal and move forward.
