We feel we can all agree that 2020 has been an interesting year.
Like many other performing arts and education companies in Australia, Bazil Grumble was impacted by cancellations and postponements due to COVID-19. We were devastated when we were unable to do our creative arts and Easter experiences for vacation care, council and many other clients throughout South East Queensland.
However, after much stress, cups of tea, sleepless nights and so much kindness from staff and Bazil Grumble families, we slowly started to recover. We ran two free, online programs while stay at home restrictions were in place: Drama @ Home! and Creative Arts Experiences @ Home!, in which we provided fun, interactive learning materials that participants could access from home. As restrictions eased, we safely returned to drama classes, art classes, child care, vacation care, parks, environment centres and corporate events, so happy to see your smiling faces in person!
We want to say a BIG thank you for your support throughout year. We have been overwhelmed with the love and positive comments from Bazil Grumble friends and family as well as the multitude of organisations we work with to deliver our creative arts experiences. Thank you! While there may still be challenges ahead for Bazil Grumble and the community, artistic pursuits will now and forever help us explore, create, connect, understand each other, collaborate, heal and move forward.
Last night we carefully packed away our elf hats, storybooks and craft supplies for the last time this year, having entertained over 2,000 children at Santa’s Stopover at South Bank. Thank you to everyone who came along to share the spirit of Christmas with us over the 6 days and nights among the twinkling lights and magical surrounds of the beautiful parklands. We are now taking a break to spend quality time with our respective families, rest and recharge for next year. Our office will be shut from midday on Thursday 24 December and will reopen again on Thursday 7 January.
