Brisbane City Council’s Active Parks program offers activities for all ages at more than 50 local parks across Brisbane. You can use the free or low cost activities to help improve your health, fitness and well-being.

ECO DRAMA (3 TO 8 YEARS)

A BUG’S LIFE STORIES & GAMES (3 TO 5 YEARS) 
10am Wednesday 22 July at Bellbowrie
Bugs, bees, beetles, ladybirds, butterflies… there are so many little creatures in the park. In this workshop we are going to hear stories, play games and go for a walk with some magnifying glasses to see if we can find some tiny insects hiding in the plants.

10am Friday 31 July at Mt Coot-tha
Blast off into space with this fun activity. High energy games and an adventure walk make this workshop an out of this world experience!

ACTIVE EXPLORERS CREATE (3 TO 5 YEARS)
10am Tuesday 25 August at Ashgrove – $5
Come and explore the park with a magnifying glass and watch a whole new world come to life as you participate in an adventure walk. After the walk children will have fun creating some unique gift cards. Cost $5.

FROLICKING FAIRIES (3 TO 5 YEARS)
10am Friday 28 August at Kalinga
Fairy, Fairy in the garden, will you come tonight? Come along dressed as a fairy, bring your healthy snack and enjoy a fairy picnic under the trees. This workshop inspires the imagination as children play fairy games, hear fairy stories, sing fairy songs and enjoy creative movement.

Bring your senses to life! Come along to hear some stories and songs about the senses, engage in some creative activities that explore the textures of the park and play some games that will get everyone feeling active and healthy.

WILD THINGS DRAMA (3 TO 8 YEARS)

Starting with a reading of the book Where the Wild Things Are, we then offer a drama workshop based around the story.

Enjoy a story, then get active with sack races and a wiggly caterpillar race. This innovative, energetic workshop promises heaps of fun while promoting a healthy message!
